Lake Geneva, WI Insulation Contractor

Green Attic Insulation now works in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and our company, Green Attic Inc., holds a Wisconsin dwelling contractor license.
In homes near the lake, heat escapes through the attic and the rooms above the garage, and that lost heat is what causes ice dams. We seal the air leaks first, then insulate: blown-in insulation for open attics and spray foam for vaulted ceilings and rooms over the garage.

Insulation Services for Lake Geneva Homes

Every house around the lake is different, so we don't quote from a price list. We inspect first and price the work after we've seen the attic, the walls and how the home is used.

Attic Insulation

Blown-in fiberglass or cellulose that brings the attic up to the level a Wisconsin winter needs, added after the air leaks are sealed.

Air Sealing

We seal the gaps around top plates, chimneys, recessed lights and attic hatches that let warm air escape into the attic and start ice dams.

Spray Foam Insulation

Open- and closed-cell foam for cathedral ceilings, bonus rooms, rim joists and the tight spaces blown-in insulation can't reach.

Crawl Space Insulation

Insulation and encapsulation for crawl spaces under lake homes, where ground moisture and cold floors are common.

Wall Insulation

Insulation blown into existing walls through small holes that are patched afterward, without tearing out finished interiors.

Garage Insulation

For heated garages and the rooms above them that never feel as warm as the rest of the house.

Built for Homes on the Lake

Ice dams on complex roofs

Dormers, valleys and wide eaves make ice dams more likely. They start with warm air leaking into the attic, so we seal those leaks and check attic ventilation before adding insulation.

Homes that sit empty part of the year

A well-sealed, well-insulated house holds temperature and humidity better while it's closed up, which is easier on wood floors, trim and finishes. Tell us when you're at the lake and we'll plan the inspection and the work around it.

Care inside the house — Floors, doorways and furnishings are covered before we start, and the work area is cleaned before we leave.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work in Wisconsin?

Yes. Green Attic Inc. holds a Wisconsin Dwelling Contractor credential, No. 5456-DCFR, issued by the Department of Safety and Professional Services. You can check it with "Lookup a License" at dsps.wi.gov.

What causes ice dams, and will more insulation stop them?

Ice dams form when heat leaking into the attic melts snow on the roof and the water refreezes at the colder eaves. Insulation alone rarely fixes it — sealing the air leaks and making sure the attic is ventilated is what stops the melting.

Is spray foam the best choice for a lake home?

Not everywhere. Spray foam is best for cathedral ceilings, rim joists and tight spaces. Open attics usually get more for the money from air sealing plus blown-in insulation. We recommend after we've inspected the house.

Can you work on a home we only use part of the year?

Yes. Let us know when you'll be at the lake and who can let us in, and we'll schedule the inspection and the work around that.

How much does insulation cost?

It depends on the size of the attic or walls, access, what's already there and the material you choose. We give you a written price after the free on-site inspection.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. We offer financing options and can go through them with you at the estimate.

What warranty do you give?

Our insulation work is backed by a 10-year warranty on workmanship.

How do I get started?

Book a free consultation. We inspect the home, explain what we found, and give you a plan and a price — no obligation.
