I made an appointment with Green Attic to do an energy audit w blower door test on my house. Several years ago we added a lot of insulation to our attic, but our winter gas bills are still high and some rooms on the SW side run cold. Tim came out, and we walked around the outside of the house where he pointed to some places where we badly need sealing/weatherization – such as a huge gap all around where the framing sits on the stone foundation. Once you've added insulation, he explained, the main problem is weatherizing against outside wind. He told me I could do most of it myself and that I could call them back later to do the audit.
